From the Heart of Silence
As many of you know I am involved in the interfaith community. Here is an interfaith day of silence that we are putting on in Portland, Oregon... I think it'll be amazing!
APRIL 26, 2008
PORTLAND, OREGON

From the Heart of Silence
A Day of Contemplative Practice
Join with us for a day of silent contemplation, guided by these extraordinary open-hearted practitioners:
Father Michael Fish from the New Camaldoli Monastery in Big Sur. www.Contemplation.com
Venerable Ani Tenzin Kacho, Vietnamese born Tibetan Buddhist Nun and associate of the Dalai Lama. www.tdling.com
Rabbi Ted Falcon, Rabbi and teacher in the Jewish Contemplative Tradition. www.betalef.org; www.rabbitedonline.com
Sheikh Kabir and Camille Helminski, teachers in the Sufi tradition of Rumi. www.Sufism.org
Alternating periods of silent meditation and short talks on contemplation by each of the presenters including a silent lunch, and ending with a reception.
Silent contemplative practice is the common ground shared by various faith traditions. Sufism, Christianity, Judaism, and Buddhism each have their characteristic approaches to the contemplative experience. More and more people are coming to understand that meditation, centering prayer, and silent remembrance are practices that open up a shared spiritual experience beyond beliefs and theologies.
Registration begins February 18, 2008
